Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information.
Last updated: 23 July 2026
1. Who we are
Wells Courier Services ("we", "us", "our") provides same-day courier services across the United Kingdom. We are the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
- Business: Wells Courier Services
- Based in: Milton Keynes, United Kingdom
- Email: antony@wellscourierservices.co.uk
- Telephone: 07748 845 131
2. Information we collect
We only collect information that we need in order to quote for and carry out your delivery.
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, telephone number and, where provided, your email address.
- Enquiry details — the content of the message you send us, which typically includes collection and delivery addresses, timings and a description of the goods.
- Correspondence — records of emails, calls and messages between us.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data — your IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, collected by our web host and any analytics tools in use.
- Cookies — small files stored on your device. Please see our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How we use your information
We use your personal information for the following purposes, each with a lawful basis under the UK GDPR:
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry and providing a quote | Steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract |
| Arranging and carrying out a delivery | Performance of a contract |
| Keeping records of jobs, invoices and correspondence | Legal obligation and our legitimate interests |
| Protecting our website from misuse and spam | Our legitimate interests in keeping our systems secure |
| Resolving disputes or claims relating to a delivery | Our legitimate interests in defending our legal position |
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Marketing
We will only send you marketing communications if you have asked us to. If we do, you can opt out at any time by replying to any message or emailing us at the address above. Opting out of marketing does not affect messages we need to send you about a delivery you have booked.
5. Who we share your information with
We share personal information only where necessary, and only with organisations that are required to keep it secure:
- Email delivery provider — messages submitted through our website contact form are transmitted using SMTP2GO, an email delivery service.
- Web hosting provider — our website and its server logs are hosted by our hosting supplier.
- Google Fonts — our website loads typefaces from Google's font service, which involves your browser making a request to Google and may expose your IP address to them.
- Professional advisers — accountants, insurers or legal advisers where necessary.
- Law enforcement or regulators — where we are legally required to do so.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your information receives an equivalent level of protection, such as relying on UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry and delivery records for as long as needed for the purpose they were collected, and then for a further period where we have a legal or business reason to do so. In practice:
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking — typically deleted within 12 months.
- Delivery and invoicing records — retained for at least six years to meet tax and accounting requirements.
- Website technical logs — retained for a short period in line with our host's standard practice.
8. Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Our website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to enquiry data is limited to those who need it to carry out the work.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your information where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
- Ask us to restrict how we use your information.
- Object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Request transfer of your information to another provider in a portable format.
- Withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at antony@wellscourierservices.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection:
- Website: ico.org.uk
- Helpline: 0303 123 1113
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
