Cookie Policy
What cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them.

1. About this policy
This policy explains how Wells Courier Services uses cookies and similar technologies on wellscourierservices.co.uk. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners about how their site is being used.
Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another organisation, such as an analytics provider, are called third-party cookies. Cookies that are deleted when you close your browser are session cookies; those that remain until they expire or you delete them are persistent cookies.
3. Cookies we use
We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. The table below sets out the cookies that may be placed when you use our site.
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress session cookies | Strictly necessary | Set by our website platform to allow the site to function and to keep administrators signed in. These are not set for ordinary visitors browsing the site. | Session to 12 months |
| Cookie consent preference | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choices so you are not asked again on every page. | Up to 12 months |
| Security and anti-spam | Strictly necessary | Helps protect our contact form and site from automated abuse. | Session |
If analytics or marketing cookies are added to the site in future, this table will be updated and your consent will be requested before those cookies are set.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
Some cookies are essential for our website to operate — for example, to keep the site secure and to remember your cookie preferences. These cookies do not require your consent, but you can still block them through your browser settings. If you do, parts of the site may not work as intended.
5. Third-party services
Our website uses a small number of third-party services. These may not set cookies themselves, but they do involve your browser connecting to another organisation's servers, which can expose your IP address to them:
- Google Fonts — we load the Lato typeface from Google's font service so the site displays consistently across devices.
- SMTP2GO — used to deliver messages submitted through our contact form. This is triggered only when you submit the form.
- Our web host — records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and diagnostic purposes.
Each of these organisations operates under its own privacy policy, which we would encourage you to review if you would like more detail.
6. How to control cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view what cookies are stored, delete them individually or all at once, and block cookies from being set in future.
Guidance for common browsers is available on their support sites:
- Google Chrome — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data
- Safari — Preferences, then Privacy
- Microsoft Edge — Settings, then Cookies and site permissions
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings, then Privacy & Security
Please note that blocking all cookies will affect how many websites function, not just ours. For general, independent guidance on cookies you may find the Information Commissioner's Office website helpful: ico.org.uk.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or to legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
8. Contact us
